Innovation Award for iced coffee in CartoCan®
Swedish family-owned Löfbergs AB received the SIAL Innovation Award for its organic coffee in environmentally friendly CartoCan®
At the SIAL international food and beverage trade show in Toronto, Swedish coffee roaster Löfbergs AB was awarded the bronze prize in the 2019 SIAL Innovation Competition for its iced coffee range. SIAL in Toronto is one of the largest trade shows for the food industry in North America, with more than 1,000 exhibitors and around 18,000 trade visitors.
In addition to good taste and all-natural ingredients, the jury highlighted the cylindrical shape and recyclability of the packaging, which looks like a metal can but is made largely from renewable raw materials.
“Taking responsibility for people and the environment has always been important to us, and this work extends throughout the value chain. We take responsibility from the bean to the cup, from the farm to the end consumer. CartoCan®, with its renewable wood fibers, is helping us achieve our goal of using only recyclable or renewable raw materials in all our packaging by 2030 at the latest,”
